The GUL100 mining intrinsically safe radar level gauge utilizes FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar ranging technology. >Working Principle
FMCW measurement technology differs from traditional ultrasonic or pulse radar wave measurement techniques. The FMCW radar level gauge operates based on the principle of Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave, using a linear frequency-modulated high-frequency signal. The emission frequency of the radar level gauge's high-frequency signal increases linearly over a certain time interval (scan frequency). Since the emission frequency changes with the signal propagation time and is proportional to the distance of the reflective object, the level height is determined by the difference between the current emission frequency and the received reflection frequency.
